CCBC NAMES TYLER CARE AS MEN’S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH

Monaca, PA - Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) announced today the appointment of Tyler Care as the next head coach of the CCBC men’s basketball team. In this role, he will oversee all elements of the program, ensuring success for the student-athletes on and off the court.

“We are thrilled to name Tyler Care as head coach of CCBC’s men’s basketball program,” said Colin Sisk, CCBC director of student life and athletic administration. “We are confident that Tyler will enhance our program in ways that will deliver excellence on and off the court, both on camps and in the community.”

“I’d like to thank Colin Sisk, the search committee, and the CCBC leadership team for trusting me to lead our student-athletes,” Care said. “My roots are here in Beaver County and I am beyond excited to be joining the CCBC community as a coach. I will bring passion and dedication while instilling a culture of discipline and a winning mindset that will challenge my players to build championship habits.”

Care’s collegiate coaching career began at CCBC as the associate head men’s basketball coach in 2012 when the Titans went 23-0 in-route to a WPCC Championship and a Region XX Finals appearance. During this time, he was also instrumental in the recruitment of two NJCAA All-Americans.

Care returns to CCBC after six seasons as the head coach of the Penn State Greater Allegheny basketball program. He led the Nittany Lions to an overall record of 101-43 (.701), two conference championships, two bids to the USCAA National Tournament, and a USCAA National Championship appearance. Care earned PSUAC Coach of the Year honors in 2018, recruited six USCAA All-American and 10 All-PSUAC student-athletes, and coached 16 student-athletes to USCAA All-Academic Award status. He was the assistant athletic director from 2018 to 2020, overseeing the campus recreation program and fitness center, developing intramural opportunities, coordinating student-athlete development programming, and leading recruitment and compliance strategies. Care also developed the Graduating Athletes Initiative, a comprehensive plan focused on student-athletes’ personal growth, professional development, and academic achievement.

Care earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and administration from The Pennsylvania State University at the Beaver Campus, and a Master of Science in sport management from California University of Pennsylvania.

A Raccoon Township native, Care is heavily involved in the community, having worked as a mentor with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Beaver County and as a volunteer with Special Olympics of Beaver County. He currently resides in White Oak, Pa.
